In the deep, shadowy recesses of a vast underground cavern, a magnificent and fearsome sight unfolds.

An adult red dragon, with scales like smoldering embers, presides over its colossal hoard of treasure.

The dragon’s eyes, keen and discerning, shimmer with the wisdom of ages and the fierce pride of a creature born to rule the depths. Its vast tattered wings, slowly unfurling, cast intricate patterns of shadow and light across the rough stone walls, adding an almost mystical ambiance to the lair.

THIS IS IT. This is what you have come for, the beast that was foretold.

Can you complete the deed and protect the realm?

Encounter

The Beast is a 30HP red dragon.

• Breath of Fire: If it would deal more than 10 damage at any one time, it causes Burning.
• Scales of Iron: Ignore the first 1 damage of every attack and make it immune to Burning.
• Relentless: Any Escape Attempts against the beast are Cursed Rolls, and furthermore must be repeated through every subsequent room you escape to. Three successful escapes in a row and you have lost the beast, otherwise it will chase you until you are back outside the dungeon entrance, at which point it will let you go. (similar to Turning Back).

Resolution

If you are still alive, and the beast is not, you have successfully protected the realm!

Taking the Dragon’s Eye as a trophy, The Lantern helps you find your way back out, and now there’s nothing left to do but seek your reward!
