The Lantern

Every hero brave enough to attempt to just the beast is given a lantern, enchanted with elder magic, to light their way in the ever shifting dungeon.

It glows an soft blue, yet has no flame – rather a single blossom in the center. The secret of their source and cultivation has been carefully guarded.

Passive effects of the lantern

  1. Allows one to find their way out of the dungeon, should they triumph… or need to Turning Back.
  2. Works as a standard light, helping one through dark places. Unless it runs out of fuel…

Lantern rolls

If the hero rolls a natural 20, the latent magic of the lantern is activated, causing different effects in different situations.

  • In Battle Rolls, the hero immediately triumphs, and the resulting action (for example, damage) is doubled.
  • When using potions, their effects are doubled.
