Every hero brave enough to attempt to just the beast is given a lantern, enchanted with elder magic, to light their way in the ever shifting dungeon.
It glows an soft blue, yet has no flame – rather a single blossom in the center. The secret of their source and cultivation has been carefully guarded.
Passive effects of the lantern
- Allows one to find their way out of the dungeon, should they triumph… or need to Turning Back.
- Works as a standard light, helping one through dark places. Unless it runs out of fuel…
Lantern rolls
If the hero rolls a natural 20, the latent magic of the lantern is activated, causing different effects in different situations.
- In Battle Rolls, the hero immediately triumphs, and the resulting action (for example, damage) is doubled.
- When using potions, their effects are doubled.
