Turning down a hall, you notice a radiant glow. Are you close to the surface again?
The specter of a knight stands, gleaming as if in daylight.
As you approach the knight, its gaze fixes on you with an unnerving intensity. You can almost feel the weight of centuries bearing down upon it, as if the very fabric of time itself is worn as this warrior’s crest.
The air seems to charge with electric anticipation. While the knight may have once searched for gold or glory in these caverns, the only quest that remains now is facing a noble adversary – you have given it hope it may finally rest.

Encounter
The knight will not attack, unless you do. You can walk right past it.
You get the sense it would appreciate a duel, that it may finally rest, and would reward you greatly – should you defeat it in combat.
If you choose to attack…
The knight is 9HP, but can only be hit with even numbered damage.
If the knight rolls a 1 or you activate your lantern (natural 20), any number will hit that round. (Damage is not doubled by The Lantern however!)
If you use Silver Dust, this enemy becomes normal.

If you defeated the knight
Mythril Chain Mail, armor blocks 4 every time you would take damage from combat.

You can rest here even if you haven’t defeated the knight, but Healing is a Cursed Roll.
